GreenYield™ reporting establishes a base line, measurement, and verification method for monitoring energy and pollution (E&P) savings that result from improvements in automotive repair shop operations, SIC sector code 753. Savings are determined by measurement of key performance parameter(s) which define the energy use and pollution prevention of the affected system(s) and/or the success of the improvement(s). Parameters not selected for measurement are estimated. Statistical data is based on historical data, manufacturer's specifications, and/or engineering calculations. Documentation of the source or justification of the estimated parameter(s) is conventional. Environmental accounting is certified as a Key Performance Indicator "KPI" for insurance companies (Fire and Casualty - Direct Repair Programs), customer service index reporting, consumer and business rating, and financial scoring.

SECTION 1. Application Programming Interface (API)

TECHNOLOGY: Based on programmed web-feed data from utilities, waste haulers and/or paint suppliers, GreenYield™ is seamlessly integrated into shop estimating systems for Repair Order (RO) data and information retrieval. The software features automated data-stream input, transformation, processing and output, complete with on-line records management.

INTERFACE: Open data-link protocol software is designed to independently coexist with automotive shop estimating and/or management systems serving: Top and Body Repair and Paint Shops; Glass Replacement Shops; General Automotive Repair Shops; Transmission Repair Shops; Auto Exhaust System Repair Shops; Tire Retreading And Repair Shops; and Misc. SECTION 4. Savings Calculations

Savings analyses are determined by calculating the difference between baseline E&P and current E&P under similar conditions: (Baseline E&P - Current E&P) Repair Order Adjustment = GreenYield™ Savings. E&P totals are the square root of the mean of the squares of the parameter values. Calculations employ regression analysis to account for variations in independent parameters.

SECTION 5. Repair Order Adjustment (ROA)

Adjustments to account for an increase or decrease in monitored parameters is derived from recorded labor hours during a similar period and under comparable operating conditions. Conclusive savings calculations are based on relational work hours by calculating the ratio of baseline RO's to current RO's: (ROBASELINE is to E&PBASELINE as ROCURRENT is to E&PADJUSTED) = Repair Order Adjustment

2. % Emissions Savings = VOC, HAPs, NOx, PM, etc.
3. % Water Savings = Utility Consumption, Wastewater, etc.

5. % Greenhouse Gas Savings = O3, CO, CO2, Ozone, CFCs, NOx, SOx, CH4, HFCs, N2O, etc.

SECTION 7. Energy and Pollution (E&P) Conversion Factors

1. Electric Utility Usage = Kilowatt Hour (KWH), Kilowatt Demand (KW) = 3.6 Megajoules/kWh
2. Air Emissions = VOC, HAPs, NOx, CO, CO2, SOx, PM10, Mercury, Chromium, Lead, Manganese, Nickel, and Cadmium = 9.95 Megajoules/lb
3. Gas Heat = Natural Gas, Propane and Petroleum MBTU (Therms) = 105.5 Megajoules/BTU
4. GHG = Conversion of Carbon Dioxide metric tons to KWH for the purpose of calculating avoided units of carbon dioxide emissions. (7.18 x 10-4 metric tons CO2 / kWh)
5. Waste = RCRA, Non-RCRA, Municipal Solid = 89 Megajoules/gallon
6. Water = Utility Consumption, Wastewater, Sewage = 11.2 Megajoules/kGal
